Vincenzo Bruzzese February 4, 1931 to February 7, 2026 At Santa Cabrini Hospital on Saturday February 7, 2026, at age 95 years. Survived by his loving wife Rosa Sbarra and his devoted children Salvatore, Maria Angela (Dennis) and Remo (Samantha). Cherished Nonno of Ethan and Simon, and fondly remembered by many other extended family members and friends. Vincenzo spent his early childhood in Italy, under challenging circumstances after the unfortunate passing of his mother. In the early 1950’s, he emigrated to Canada as a young man in search of a better life. After several years, Vincenzo returned to Italy for a brief period and was introduced to Rosa, who would become his bride. Together they returned to Canada and settled in Montreal, Quebec. Despite limited resources and a longing for his home country, Vincenzo dedicated himself to building a new life, surrounded by a large circle of family and friends in the Italian community. The Italian traditions were always in his heart and Vincenzo spent his free time taking care of his home and meticulously tending to his vegetable gardens, with a special anecdote being his years-long attempt to have his beloved fig tree survive Canadian winters. Vincenzo valued hard work, as evidenced by his 35 years as a trusted employee, and never failed in providing for his family. Although he missed his home country, he viewed this as a worthy sacrifice and took great pride in the life and opportunities he provided for his children. Vincenzo Bruzzese 4 febbraio 1931 – 7 febbraio 2026 Vincenzo Bruzzese è venuto a mancare presso l’ospedale Santa Cabrini sabato 7 febbraio 2026, all’età di 95 anni. Lascia nel dolore la sua amata moglie Rosa Sbarra e i suoi devoti figli Salvatore, Maria Angela (Dennis) e Remo (Samantha). Amato Nonno di Ethan e Simon, e ricordato con affetto da molti altri familiari e amici. Vincenzo trascorse la sua prima infanzia in Italia, in circostanze difficili dopo la prematura scomparsa della madre. Nei primi anni Cinquanta emigrò in Canada da giovane, in cerca di una vita migliore. Dopo alcuni anni, Vincenzo tornò in Italia per un breve periodo, dove conobbe Rosa, che sarebbe diventata sua sposa. Insieme rientrarono in Canada e si stabilirono a Montréal, Québec. Nonostante le risorse limitate e la nostalgia per la sua terra natale, Vincenzo si dedicò con impegno alla costruzione di una nuova vita, circondato da una vasta cerchia di familiari e amici della comunità italiana. Le tradizioni italiane furono sempre nel suo cuore e Vincenzo trascorreva il suo tempo libero prendendosi cura della sua casa e coltivando con grande dedizione il suo orto; un aneddoto speciale riguarda il suo tentativo, durato anni, di far sopravvivere il suo amato albero di fichi agli inverni canadesi. Vincenzo attribuiva grande valore al lavoro, come dimostrano i suoi 35 anni come dipendente stimato e affidabile, e non venne mai meno nel provvedere alla sua famiglia. Sebbene sentisse la mancanza della sua terra natale, considerò questo un sacrificio degno e provò sempre grande orgoglio per la vita e le opportunità che riuscì a offrire ai suoi figli. La cerimonia sarà celebrata venerdì 20 febbraio 2026 alle ore 10:00 presso la Chiesa Our Lady of Pompei, e di là al Cimitero Le Repos Saint-François-d’Assise.
