It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of Gerardo De Fazio on Saturday, January 24, 2026, at the age of 91. Devoted husband of Carmela (Marano) for 65 wonderful years. Loving father of Vincenzina (Giuseppe) and Nicolangelo (Mirella). Cherished Nonno of Celia and Vanessa. Brother to the late Antonio (Pasqualina), Carina (Emilio), Grazia (Giovanni), Vincenza (Gennaro) and Irma (Antonio). He will be missed by many nieces and nephews. Born to the late Nicolangelo and Emilia De Fazio in Irpino, Avellino, Italy. He was incredibly proud of his Italian heritage. Through his hard work and dedication, he built a long career as a carpenter, which reflected his patience, skill, and quiet strength. Gerardo was a family man who was kind and led by example; he worked hard and gave without expectation. His love was steady and unconditional. His granddaughters meant the world to him, bringing him joy and laughter. He also found joy in watching soccer, bowling, and playing bocce ball. His legacy lives on in the values he instilled, the memories he created, and the love he freely shared. He will forever remain in our hearts. We are grateful for the wonderful care and compassion of Vidia, Christina and the staff at Centre d’hébergement Champlain Marie-Victorin. Visitations will be held at Magnus Poirier Funeral Complex, 6825 Sherbrooke E. in Montreal on Sunday, February 1st, 2026 from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m and from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. A ceremony will be held on Monday, February 2nd, 2026 at 10 a.m. at San Domenico Savio church thence to Le Repos Saint Francois D'Assise cemetery.
