It is with deep sadness that the family announces the passing of Mr. Alfonso Carestia on July 5th, 2025, at the age of 74, after a long and courageous battle with cancer.

Born in Cattolica Eraclea, Sicily on May 17th, 1951, he is survived by his beloved wife Adelina Campopiano, his loving children Joyce (Rick) and Charles (Anna), his cherished grandchildren Victoria, Alexander, Victor and Adelina Rose, his sisters Grazia (the late Calogero), Antonietta (the late Liborio), his brother Frank (Anna), his brother in-law Paolo (Candida), several nieces and nephews and countless friends.

Alfonso was known for his unwavering spirit and positive attitude, even in the face of adversity. He demonstrated remarkable strength and grace, inspiring all who knew him. Alfonso touched the lives of many and will be remembered for his kindness, courage, generosity and above all the love he had for his family. 

Visitations will be held at Magnus Poirier Funeral Complex, 10300 Blvd Pie-IX, Montreal-North, QC. H1H-3Z1 on Monday, July 14th, 2025 from 4:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. and on Tuesday, July 15th, 2025 from 8:30 a.m. to 10:00 a.m.

A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, July 15th, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. at St-Leonard Church, located at 5525, Jarry East, St-Leonard, then to Laval Cemetery.
