It is with profound sadness that the family announces the passing of Luigi Graceffa on Wednesday, January 7th, 2026, at the age of 93. He was the beloved husband of the late Stefania (Caci) Graceffa. Luigi will be deeply missed by his loving children, Rosalia (Paolo), Alfonso (Patty), Maria (Doug), and Salvatore (Micheline), as well as by his cherished grandchildren and great-grandchild. He is also mourned by his brothers and sisters, nieces and nephews, extended family members, and many friends. Born on September 10th, 1932, in Aragona, Agrigento, Sicily, Luigi was the son of the late Alfonso and Rosalia (Galluzzo) Graceffa and the eldest of seven children. From a young age, he and his siblings worked on the family farm. Like many young men of his generation in Aragona, Luigi traveled to the UK in search of employment opportunities. On February 18th, 1959, he married Stefania Caci in Aragona, Sicily, and together they later settled in Montreal, Canada. Luigi found great joy in being surrounded by his children, grandchildren, great-grandchild, and extended family and friends. A hardworking and devoted family man, he dedicated his life to providing his children with better opportunities, instilling in them the values of perseverance and a strong work ethic. The Graceffa family extends heartfelt thanks to the physicians, nurses, and staff of Lachine Hospital, especially the Palliative Care Unit, for their compassionate care and support. Pie-IX on Wednesday, January 21st, 2026, from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. and from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. A funeral service will be held on Thursday January 22nd at 9:00 a.m. at Notre-Dame-de-la-Défense, thence to the Notre-Dame-des-Neiges Cemetery.
