It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Rita Prete on December 26, 2025, at the age of 98. She was preceded in death by her husband of 43 years, Giacomo Faraggi. 

Her memory will be forever cherished by her children Lidia, Antonio (Dhekra), and Giancarlo (Maria Carmela), as well as her grandchildren Stephanie (Patrick), Jordan, and Matteo, and her great-granddaughter, Brooklyn.  

She is survived by siblings Ida, Concetta, and Mario, and will be fondly remembered by her nieces and nephews, cousins and friends.   

Visitations will take place on January 4, 2026, between 2:00 p.m.-5:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m.-9:00 p.m. at Magnus Poirier Funeral Complex, located at 6825 Sherbrooke Street East, Montreal, Quebec  H1C 1N7. A mass will be held on January 5, 2026 at 2:00 p.m., and then laid to rest at Le repos Saint-François d’Assise at 3:00 p.m.
