With heavy hearts, we announce the peaceful passing of Giovanni Bortolin, our beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. Surrounded by the love of his family, Giovanni left this world just as he lived in it — with quiet strength, deep love, and enduring grace.

Giovanni leaves behind his cherished wife of 70 years, Giovanna (née Iacampo), the heart of the home they built together with tradition, laughter, and a lot of love — a home that not only raised their two daughters, but also became a second home to all four of their grandchildren.

He was the proud and cherished father of Diana and Judy, and a loving father-in-law to Judy’s late husband, Johnny. As a grandfather, he was a guiding light to Corey (Alexandria), Chelsea, Julian, and Brandon, and a joyful great-grandfather to Spencer and Brooke.

He had a quiet way of being there — steady, thoughtful, and always ready to listen, offer perspective, or raising a glass of his homemade wine in celebration or comfort.

Giovanni found joy in life’s simple pleasures: a home-cooked meal from Giannina’s garden and weekly family suppers filled with lively, meaningful conversation. Those gatherings weren’t just tradition — they reflected who he was and what he held most dear: family, connection, and time spent together.

He lived with generosity, resilience, and unwavering loyalty. He gave his family a foundation rooted in love, hard work, and humility — values that continue to shape us all.

Though they lived far apart, Giovanni shared a lifelong bond with his sister Vanda and his late brother Renato.

He will be deeply missed in every shared meal, every glass raised, and every evening spent around the table. His love lives on in the walls of the home he built, in the stories we tell, and in the traditions we carry forward. He gave us a legacy of love that will never fade.

Visitations will be held at Magnus Poirier Funeral Complex, 10300 Pie IX Blvd. on Sunday, August 10th, 2025 from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m and from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m.
