MARIA PANACCIONE (TORTOLANO)

It is with deep sadness that the family announces the passing of Maria Panaccione Tortolano on Tuesday April 29, 2025, at the age of 78.

She will be sadly missed by her beloved husband Giovanni Tortolano, her children, Fiorentina (Leo), Nadia (Sergio) and Giulio (Tina) and her grandchildren Julian, Jasmine, Alex,Gabriella, Sarah, Isabella and Jonathan, her brother Domenico (Antoinette), her sister-in-law Anita. Missed by all her nieces, nephews and friends.

Maria was Maria. One of a kind. If we had to pick one word to describe her it would be DETERMINED, ok also, non stoppable, strong, fierce, loving, caring, passionate and forgiving.

She had nothing growing up but made sure to provide for her family no matter what. She managed to learn how to read and write and completed hairdressing school and eventually owned a hairdressing Salon.

Rest In Peace to our Maria, daughter, sister, aunt, friend, wife, mother and grandmother to her 7 hearts. You were our matriarch, our glue that made our family strong. We promise to continue your legacy. You will never be forgotten.

The family will receive condolences at Magnus Poirier Funeral complex at 10300 blvd. Pie IX, Montreal on Monday, May 5th 2025 at 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. and from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. and on Tuesday morning from 10:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

The funeral service will be held at Our Lady of Pompei Church on Tuesday, May 6, 2025 at 1:00 p.m. Burial to follow at the Cemetery Notre-Dame-des Neiges situated at 4601 Chemin de La Cote Des Neiges section M10.

In lieu of flowers, as an expression of sympathy, donations may be made to Dementia and Alzheimer’s foundations.
